There are so many divorces in these modern times.  The ratio is about 0ne to one, one divorce for every marriage.  These statistics are mind boggling to say the least.  Many people have been divorced more than once.  I'm thinking about the children of all of these divorces.  It is they who are most adversely affected.  It is they who suffer the greatest damage.  These children are ill equipped to cope with the dramatic psychological and mental shock which accompanies the breakup of a marriage.  Add to that, the sometimes years of bitterness, acrimony and open warfare their parents go through leading up to the divorce.  It is too much to ask a child to bear. These children;  have no power or control over what is happening to them; and are the very ones who suffer the most.  The emotional pain and misery for these children is beyond belief.  The very people who should be the foundation for their well-being, comfort and love, are the very same people who are destroying everything in that child's world. There are feelings of well-being and security, children only get from their parents. If you yourself were a victim of a divorce as a child. You know personally how devastating this can be.  I believe many of the problems these children suffer later on in life can be partly attributed to being involved in a divorce, particularly if the divorce was very bitter and acrimonious.  To describe all the psychological and mental damage done to the children in this situation, would take a book. But let me tell you about one young girl's thoughts and feelings about her daddy, divorcing her mother for a younger woman. I hope these words touch you as much as they touched me. It's called ‘The Children Song’.

                        THE CHILDREN’S SONG.

When I see my mama with tears in our eyes.

I know what she's crying for.

She misses my daddy so very much.

He won't be coming back any more.

 Love is like a beautiful flower.

Without the rain and sun shine it will die.

Daddy took the rain and the sunshine.

When he told my mama goodbye.

 You kissed me the day you were leaving.

You said, please don't be so sad.

You left my mama for a young girls love.

You hurt my mama so bad.

 I know my daddy won't be coming back.

Because, he's been gone too long.

My mama loved him so very much.

Why did he do her so wrong?

 Daddy Oh daddy, wherever you are.

A young girls love, doesn't last too long.

If she leaves you, I won't say, I told you so.

I will just sing you this song.
